Our Senate is badly need of Reform. Without even touching on the Senate Expenses Scandal that began in 2013 there are obvious issues. The Western Provinces are under-represented, with most Senators appointed to their seats as part of political patronage for potentially long terms. Many Canadians are rightfully upset with this, and there are a substantial number of Canadians who want to Abolish the Senate. However, due in large part to a decision of the Supreme Court of Canada reforming the Senate is difficult, but abolishing it is next to impossible.
